We believe local food businesses play a critical role in building healthy communities. Small-scale bakeries bring people together, create meaningful livelihoods, and restore connection in neighborhoods that might have largely lost it. Fresh, locally made bread is more than a product, it’s culture, connection, and care.

Simply Bread was founded by a Belgian who grew up buying bread from a baker who knew his name. After moving to the USA, he felt the shortage of real food made by real people… so he started to bake for himself. After struggling through uneven loaves and constant shuffling, he started tinkering, prototype after prototype, until one batch finally came out right. He called his neighbors over that same night to share it. Word got around. Other home bakers wanted an oven like his, and then they wanted more than that: help pricing what they baked, finding people to sell to, turning something they loved into something that could support them. Simply Bread was born out of a simple passion, making it easy to bake real bread, and it grew into something bigger: the tools and the community bakers need to build a real business.
